About Biddle Ranch Vineyard
Biddle Ranch began in 2013 as the shared dream of a group of Central Coast friends, five couples with deep local roots, who first poured their Edna Valley wines from the 1907 Avila Valley Schoolhouse beside Highway 101 before building today's modern-farmhouse tasting room amid the estate's Chardonnay on Biddle Ranch Road. The 17 estate acres of Chardonnay anchor a cool-climate program of Pinot Noir, Syrah, sparkling wine and whites, with fruit also selected from Santa Ynez to Arroyo Grande and Paso Robles.
Winemaker Ryan Deovlet, trained in Australia and New Zealand and mentored by Edna Valley legend Stephen Dooley of Stephen Ross, shapes the old-world-leaning style that locals rank among the valley's most refined. The airy tasting room and olive-shaded patio pour Thursday through Monday, dog-friendly, and a renovated mid-century farmhouse in the middle of the 23-acre vineyard sleeps twelve for those who want to stay inside the view.
