About Black Hand Cellars

Black Hand Cellars takes its name from family lore: the stories a great-grandmother told of her husband's wine being so good that the Black Hand Mafia sought him out for it. The vineyard and winemaking live in Paso Robles, where the family crafts bold red blends from Rhone to Bordeaux, but since 2009 the wines have poured in Cambria's West Village.

The Main Street tasting room leans into a 1920s speakeasy theme, with stories to match the pours. Weekends run noon to 5:30pm, with tastings otherwise by appointment - call or text ahead. It is an easy stop on the Pacific Coast Wine Trail, minutes from Moonstone Beach and the road up to Hearst Castle, with a gift shop and a welcome for well-behaved dogs.

Prohibition-era swagger in Cambria's West Village: Paso-grown red blends poured in a speakeasy with family legend behind the name.
