About Brian Benson Cellars
Brian Benson Cellars places the winemaker's full name — first and last — directly on the label. The full-name declaration is the most complete form of personal accountability: not initials, not a family surname, not a nickname or a founder's informal name, but the complete legal name of the person who made the wine. If the wine is excellent, Brian Benson deserves the full credit; if it falls short, he accepts the full responsibility.
The Templeton-based project produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel from Paso Robles estate and purchased vineyard sources with the precision that a winemaker's full-name label demands. The Templeton Gap location provides west-side marine cooling that gives the wines more structure and freshness than east-side Paso Robles typically achieves.
The appointment-only format maintains the full-name declaration's seriousness: this is a focused, personal encounter with a winemaker who has put his complete identity on the line.
