About Castoro Cellars

Castoro Cellars at 1315 N. Bethel Road in Templeton is one of Paso Robles' founding modern wine estates, established in 1983 by Niels and Bimmer Udsen at a time when Paso Robles was still defining itself as a serious wine region. Over four decades of continuous production, Castoro has maintained extraordinary value and quality consistency across an entire era of regional transformation.

The Templeton Gap location gives Castoro access to the marine air corridor that funnels cool Pacific breezes through this geographic break in the coastal mountains, moderating temperatures and extending the growing season in ways that preserve natural acidity. Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Viognier anchor a portfolio spanning the full range of what the Paso Robles and Templeton Gap appellations can produce.

Walk-ins are welcome daily from 10am to 5:30pm with a $15 starting fee, making Castoro one of the most accessible and best-value tasting experiences on the Central Coast. The family-owned character, multigenerational commitment, and extraordinary price-to-quality ratio make Castoro one of those rare wineries that overdelivers in every direction.

"Castoro has been making honest, value-driven Paso Robles wine since 1983, a founding estate that helped establish the region's reputation and still delivers exceptional quality at prices the market has largely moved past."
