About Cinnabar Winery
Cinnabar was founded by Tom Mudd, a Stanford-trained engineer who planted estate vineyards high above Saratoga in the 1980s and named his winery for the alchemists' mercury ore, a nod to transformation. The label became a Santa Cruz Mountains stalwart for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Bordeaux blends, with a Saratoga village tasting room serving the trade.
Mudd's scientific rigor and the mountain fruit gave Cinnabar lasting regional standing. Alchemy, engineered.
