About David Arthur Vineyards
David Arthur Vineyards is named for David Long's two given names — David Arthur, his first and middle names, the most personal possible declaration without using a family surname. David Long's decision to put his given names on the label rather than his surname creates an unusual intimacy: this wine is 'David Arthur' in the way that a close friend might use both your names.
The Pritchard Hill estate is one of Napa Valley's most celebrated mountain positions — the volcanic hillside east of the valley where several of California's most acclaimed Cabernet estates are clustered. David Long's Sage Canyon Road property produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay from high-elevation mountain terrain with the given-name-personal-declaration philosophy the label carries.
Wine Advocate has scored David Arthur's Pritchard Hill Cabernet at 92–96 points.
