About Denali Estate
Denali Estate is a boutique Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon producer founded in 2011, taking its name from North America's highest peak as a statement of ambition, wines built to reach the highest expression of what Howell Mountain's volcanic, iron-rich soils can produce. The estate sits on the rugged eastern slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains, where elevations above 1,400 feet and well-drained volcanic terrain create conditions that consistently produce Cabernet Sauvignon of exceptional structure and longevity.
Howell Mountain is Napa Valley's most demanding AVA, too warm for Pinot Noir, too isolated for casual farming, and too rugged for anything less than serious viticulture. Cabernet Sauvignon thrives here precisely because of these challenges: the volcanic soils stress the vines appropriately, the elevation moderates temperatures, and the low yields force concentration into each berry. Denali's wines reflect all of this, dense, tannic, and built for the long haul.
Tastings are by appointment at $75, consistent with the premium positioning of serious Howell Mountain producers. The mailing list is the primary allocation channel, with production kept small to maintain the focus and farming attention that this demanding mountain appellation requires.
"Denali is Howell Mountain Cabernet at its most honest, demanding terrain, demanding farming, and wines that require the patience of a mountaineer to fully appreciate."
For collectors who follow Howell Mountain seriously, Denali Estate represents one of the appellation's committed and consistent small producers. The combination of volcanic terroir, serious winemaking, and decade-plus vintage depth makes it a compelling addition to any Napa Cabernet collection.
