About Delectus Winery
Delectus was founded in 1995 by Austrian-born winemaker Gerhard Reisacher, who moved to Napa Valley at 19, and his wife Linda Butler, built around minimal-intervention winemaking: hand-picked fruit, barrel-by-barrel evaluation, and wines left unfined and unfiltered.
Vintage Wine Estates acquired Delectus in 2016. The brand's tasting room, which had relocated to the former Milat Winery space on Highway 29 in south St. Helena in 2014, closed permanently on December 1, 2021. Robert Smith, estate winemaker since 2011 with prior experience at Quintessa and Quixote Winery, continues to make the wines, which are now sold direct-to-consumer with private and virtual tastings available by request.
