About Diamond Mountain Vineyard
The property was first planted in 1895 by Danish immigrant Andras (Andrew) Rasmussen, who cleared roughly 30 acres of vines on the site. Fred and Mary Constant acquired the estate in 1993 and built the modern winery, releasing their first vintage as CONSTANT in 1995 and commissioning architect Howard Backen to design 'The Peak' residence beside a stone-quarried barrel cave.
Following Fred Constant's death in 2014, Mary sold the property; it is now owned by Sai You and Aries Liu, who rebranded it Diamond Mountain Vineyard. The nearly 40-acre estate climbs to about 2,100 feet on volcanic, porous soil, with the 22-acre Diamond Peak Vineyard as its largest block; the estate produces roughly 1,200 cases a year and sells about 60% of its fruit to other Napa producers.
