About Dobra Zemlja Winery
Dobra Zemlja, good earth in Croatian, is the Shenandoah Valley cellar founded by Croatian-born winemaker Milan Matulich, whose old-country instincts produced famously big, dense Amador reds, Zinfandel above all, aged in a cool cave dug into the hillside. The name honors both his homeland and Zinfandel's own Croatian ancestry.
The cave tasting room and generous pours built a loyal following for a house that never apologized for intensity. Good earth, strong wine.
