About Dobra Zemlja Winery
Dobra Zemlja Winery is named from Slavic for 'good earth' — the agricultural declaration that farming families across Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia have used for generations to describe land worth cultivating. The founding family's Slavic heritage is declared directly in a language that connects them to a wine tradition older than most European nations.
The Amador City estate in the Shenandoah Valley produces Zinfandel, Barbera, Grenache, and Tempranillo from Amador County estate vineyard sources with the good-earth philosophy the Slavic name implies. The Sierra Foothills' clay-rich, decomposed granite soils at 1,200 to 1,600 feet — the dobra zemlja of the Shenandoah Valley — produce wines of unusual depth and warmth.
The daily walk-in experience on the historic Highway 49 corridor is dog-friendly, picnic-welcoming, and family-hospitable.
