About Fathers + Daughters Cellars

Fathers + Daughters Cellars celebrates two father-daughter stories at once. Guy Pacurar and his wife Sarah founded the label in 2012, the same year their daughter Ella was born; she attended the first harvest that September in a backpack. And Sarah is herself the daughter of Kurt and Heather Schoeneman, who bought Anderson Valley's legendary Ferrington Vineyard in 1996, a 75-acre site north of Boonville whose fruit is prized by some of California's most celebrated Pinot producers.

The wines are made by neighbor and veteran Anderson Valley winemaker Phil Baxter at roughly 750 cases a year, most of them vineyard designates: the signature Ella's Reserve Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, rose, a sparkling Brut, and even Apple Kobler, a hard cider from Ferrington's own apples. The style is balanced, complex and honestly priced for the pedigree of the fruit.

Tastings are by appointment only and worth arranging: the Tastings at the Top experience pours the wines on the Ferrington property itself, overlooking the vines that made the valley famous, in conversation with the people behind every step from bud break to bottle. It is about as direct a connection between glass and ground as Anderson Valley offers.
