About Fior di Sole
Fior di Sole — Italian for 'flower of the sun' — is a Napa Valley winery celebrating the marriage of Italian grape varieties and California sunshine. The project produces Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rare Vermentino, creating a portfolio that feels as at home in a Tuscan trattoria as it does on a Napa Valley terrace. The Italian varieties are vinified in the Old World tradition while benefiting from California's generous growing conditions.
Sangiovese is the star, crafted with moderate oak and careful attention to the bright acidity and savory character that make the variety so compelling with food. Vermentino is a rare find in Napa Valley — aromatic, crisp, and perfect for warm-weather drinking. The Cabernet Sauvignon anchors the portfolio with familiar Napa Valley richness and structure. Together, the wines create a dining-friendly range that rewards exploration.
The Fior di Sole tasting room in Napa's First Street district offers a warm, Italian-inspired atmosphere. Tastings are often accompanied by small bites that showcase the wines' food-pairing versatility. The experience is welcoming and convivial, reflecting the Italian belief that wine is meant to be enjoyed with food, friends, and good conversation.
