About First Crush Winery
First Crush is a make your own wine experience in Paso Robles, not a conventional tasting bar, and not in Edna Valley as this page currently files it. Becky and Lowell Zelinski founded it in 2008; Lowell holds a doctorate in viticulture. They built the program after documenting their own winemaking and finding that friends and family wanted to do the same thing.
The signature program is the Harvest Crush Encounter, which walks guests through picking grapes in the vineyard, a vineyard picnic with food and wine pairings prepared by a local chef, sorting fruit, stomping grapes, and finally bottling and labeling wine with a custom label of their own. Reported pricing has run between $325 and $720 per person, and the finished wine takes four to five months before it is ready to take home.
Addresses in public listings do not agree: one shows 2975 Limestone Way in the Tin City district, another 1810 Thistle Way, another 3850 Ramada Drive, and Yelp marks the Limestone Way location as closed.
