About Foppiano Vineyards

Foppiano Vineyards is one of California wine's enduring family stories. Giovanni Foppiano emigrated from Genova, Italy in 1896 and established the winery on Old Redwood Highway — the same property that five generations of the family have operated continuously ever since, through Prohibition, the Great Depression, and the modern California wine renaissance.

The winery survived Prohibition by making sacramental and medicinal wine — a tradition shared with several other historic Sonoma County producers. Today, fifth-generation Louis Foppiano oversees the estate with the same commitment to honest, food-friendly wines and genuine family hospitality that his great-grandfather brought from Italy.

Foppiano is one of the last major Petite Sirah specialists in California — their estate Petite Sirah program has built a devoted following among fans of this often-underappreciated variety. The tasting fee is among the lowest in Healdsburg, walk-ins are always welcome, and the genuine family warmth of the estate experience is refreshingly unpretentious.

At its Healdsburg, Sonoma County location, Foppiano Vineyards presents a featured lineup that includes Estate Petite Sirah, Sonoma County Merlot, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.

"One of the oldest continuously operating wineries in Sonoma County — the Foppiano family has made wine on the same Healdsburg property since 1896, thr"
