About Francis Ford Coppola Winery
Francis Ford Coppola Winery is the most theatrical wine estate in California — and unabashedly so. Opened in 2010 in Geyserville after the director sold the historic Inglenook estate in Napa, the Sonoma property was designed as a destination: two swimming pools, a full Italian restaurant, bocce courts, arcade games, movie memorabilia from Coppola's films (including Don Corleone's desk and Tucker's car), and a genuine sense of occasion that other wineries either can't or won't attempt.
The wines themselves are honest and approachable — the Director's Cut series is the premium line, and the Sofia (named for his daughter) sparkling wines in cans have become cult favorites. This isn't a destination for serious collectors, but it's one of the most genuinely fun, family-friendly, and entertaining winery experiences in Sonoma County.
The pool day passes — allowing access to the cabanas and pools alongside wine by the glass — make Coppola a unique summer destination that draws as much from the resort category as the wine tourism one.
At its Geyserville, Sonoma County location, Francis Ford Coppola Winery presents a featured lineup that includes Director's Cut Cabernet Sauvignon, Sofia Blanc de Blancs, Rosso Zinfandel, and Director's Cut Chardonnay. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.
"Francis Ford Coppola Winery — estate wines in Sonoma County."
