About Freedom Estate
Freedom Estate was founded in 2009 by Connie and Shawn Guttersen as a small, direct-to-consumer Napa Valley label. The wine is made each vintage by winemaker Steve Reynolds of Reynolds Family Winery, with Connie participating in the annual blending decisions.
Rather than farming a single estate vineyard, Freedom Estate sources fruit from a handful of sites, including Somerston Ranch in Chiles Valley, the Vangone Vineyard in the Vaca Mountains east of Yountville, and a Persistence Vineyard near the city of Napa, to produce a limited-production, Cabernet Sauvignon-focused portfolio.
Freedom Estate's Cabernet Sauvignon has won double gold medals at the Houston Rodeo wine competition in multiple vintages.
