About Grand Scheme Wines
Grand Scheme Wines is a boutique micro-winery built around a single certified-organic vineyard in the Carneros corner of Sonoma. The family planted their tiny Barn House Vineyard, then started a small label to go with it, launching, fittingly for a leap of faith, on a Leap Day and releasing their first 2022 wines in 2024. Their tongue-in-cheek motto sums up the philosophy: in the grand scheme of things, only the wine matters.
The estate focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, hand-farmed and certified organic, made with a low-intervention hand, minimal additives, often unfined and unfiltered, alongside a rose of Pinot and a traditional-method Blanc de Blancs sparkling made with no dosage. Production is very small, and the wines have already drawn strong scores.
You won't find a dedicated estate tasting room; instead, Grand Scheme pours at the Passaggio & Company Wine Bar, a sunny collective tasting space in the historic Jack London Village in Glen Ellen. There you can taste by the glass or bottle indoors or on the large deck, with food and weekend live music, a relaxed way to discover a small, organic Carneros label.
