About Grieve Family Winery
Grieve Family Winery was founded by David and Kathleen Grieve, who relocated from San Francisco to Napa County and purchased an initial hillside property around 2000-2002 in Lovall Valley, later adding an adjoining Sauvignon Blanc vineyard. Their first commercial release, an estate Sauvignon Blanc, came out in 2008, followed by the Double Eagle label in 2010.
The 17-acre estate is farmed organically and planted mostly to Sauvignon Blanc with a block of Merlot, at roughly 500-600 feet of elevation with cooling fog influence closer to Sonoma's climate than the valley floor. Winemaking has been led since 2018 by noted Napa consulting winemaker Philippe Melka alongside Maayan Koschitzky, producing roughly 1,500-2,000 cases a year across the Grieve Family Estate and Double Eagle labels.
