About Grieve Family Winery
Grieve Family Winery is the English-heritage family estate of the Grieve family — their surname placed on a Carneros Chardonnay and Pinot Noir program that reflects the family's commitment to the San Pablo Bay-moderated southern Napa Valley appellation. The Grieve name carries its own resonance in English (to grieve is to mourn a loss, but the Grieve family's name is simply their surname — no mourning required, just accountability).
The Carneros estate produces Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the appellation's bay-cooled estate vineyards where marine influence creates growing conditions distinctly cooler than the Napa Valley floor north of the appellation. The resulting wines have the natural acidity and aromatic precision that the cool maritime influence produces.
Wine Spectator has scored Grieve Family's Carneros Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at 88–91 points.
