About Hungry Hawk Vineyards
Hungry Hawk Vineyards overlooks the San Pasqual Valley from a ten acre estate above Escondido, founded by Jeannine and Ed Embly in 2014. Winemaker Mike Embly planted the first vines in 2009 and built the operation around sustainable, self sustaining farming, growing 15 grape varietals drawn from the traditions of France, Italy and Spain.
The rustic tasting room releases more than 25 different wines a year, many of them award winning, with a lineup that runs through Albarino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Mourvedre, Port and Sparkling Wine. Great views, a charcuterie tray, wine by the glass and a picnic friendly patio round out the visit, with the estate open to large groups as well.
