About Indian Springs Vineyards

Indian Springs Vineyards is named for the natural springs on the Nevada County estate — the water sources that local Native American peoples used before European settlement, the springs that supplied the land's most essential resource before agriculture arrived. The estate's declaration of this pre-settlement heritage in the naming acknowledges the landscape's deeper history.

The Penn Valley estate produces Zinfandel, Syrah, and Barbera from Nevada County estate vineyard blocks at elevations in the foothills above the Sacramento Valley. Nevada County wine country is less visited than Amador and El Dorado counties but produces wines of distinctive character from the same gold-rush-era terrain.
