About James Cole Winery
James Cole Winery, at 5014 Silverado Trail in Napa, was founded by James Harder and Colleen Cramsie Harder, who bought the 11-acre former equestrian property in 2000, planted vines soon after, and harvested their first estate grapes in 2003. Their winery building, completed in 2007 and designed by architect John David Rulon, sits on the footprint of the original structure. The same ownership and winemaking team also run Tank Garage Winery and T-Vine Winery.
The estate grows Cabernet Sauvignon across nine acres using three clones, fermented and aged separately before final blending, supplemented by purchased fruit for wines such as Malbec, Pinot Noir, and the Zinfandel/Petite Sirah blend 'Il Mostro.' Production is limited to roughly 2,500 cases annually, sold mainly direct-to-consumer through the winery and its wine club rather than retail distribution.
