About Kukkula Winery
Kukkula, Finnish for the hill or high place, is a hilltop organic estate in the Adelaida District of west Paso Robles, and very much the personal work of owner-winemaker Kevin Jussila, who grows, farms, and makes the wine himself. Reflecting his Finnish heritage, the wines carry Finnish names and a Rhone-centric focus: dry-farmed, organic, estate blends of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, and other Rhone grapes, plus some Zinfandel, made in an elegant, food-friendly style.
Kevin designed and built the modern, minimalist tasting room himself, its walls lined with rocks gathered from the vineyard, and it has earned architectural awards. Perched high with panoramic views of the Adelaida hills and Santa Lucia Mountains, and now with a hilltop picnic vista, it is a personal, scenic stop, often hosted by the winemaker himself.
