Lago Giuseppe Winery combines the Italian word for lake — lago — with the founder's Italian given name Giuseppe (Joseph), creating a personal topographic declaration: Joseph's Lake, named for a natural water feature on the property alongside the founder's own Italian identity.

The Italian heritage extends to the varietal lineup: Barbera alongside Cabernet Sauvignon on the Via Conejo estate declares the founder's Italian wine roots.
