Loxton Cellars is Chris Loxton's personal winemaking project, his Australian-heritage family surname placed on a Sonoma Valley Syrah and Zinfandel boutique that brings his Southern Hemisphere wine training to California's most celebrated Syrah growing region. The Loxton name has geographic resonance in Australian wine: Loxton is a South Australian town in the Riverland wine region where Chris Loxton's wine heritage took root before his California career.

The Glen Ellen estate in the Sonoma Valley produces Syrah from valley and hillside sources selected for their ability to produce the structured, aromatic, cool-climate Syrah character that Chris Loxton's Australian training taught him to value. The result is Sonoma County Syrah of unusual restraint and elegance, wines that prioritize the variety's natural savory character over the over-ripe fruit that can characterize warmer-climate expressions.
