About Longboard Vineyards
Longboard Vineyards is Healdsburg's most personality-driven and visually distinctive Plaza-area tasting room. Israeli-born Oded Shakked, who found his California calling through both winemaking and surfing, built the Longboard brand around the intersection of serious small-lot wine production and the laid-back California surf culture that informed his adopted home state identity. Surfboards decorate the walls, the atmosphere is California casual, and Sonoma County Tourism specifically calls out the 'surfer-themed wine tasting' as one of the reasons to explore the side streets around Healdsburg Plaza.
The wine program is more serious than the atmosphere suggests: single-vineyard Russian River Valley Syrah that has earned consistent critical recognition as one of California's finest expressions of the Northern Rhône variety, peppery, structured, and showing the cool-climate RRV character that distinguishes the best California Syrah from warmer-climate alternatives. Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot complete a program that balances the Rhône and Bordeaux influences that Shakked has always found compelling.
