About Mascarin Family Wines
Mascarin Family Wines is the unified Sonoma family operation run by President & Proprietor Mia Mascarin. The portfolio spans two labels under a single vision: the original 32 Winds (now 15+ years in Sonoma County) and the more recent Mascarin Wines, named after Mia’s father and proprietor Ed Mascarin. Both labels emphasize single-vineyard expressions and sustainable farming.
Winemaking is led by Matt Taylor, a third-generation Sonoman with 23 years of experience across France, Argentina, Switzerland, and Australia. Taylor’s approach uses oxidative winemaking (controlled oxygen exposure during élevage), whole cluster fermentation for structure, spice, and aromatic depth, plus native yeast, minimal sulfur, and no fining or filtering. Biodynamic principles — honed during Taylor’s years in Switzerland — shape the farming. The wines evolve in the glass and reward bottle age.
The tasting room at 1010 Dry Creek Road, Healdsburg (next door to West Wines at 1000) pours a single six-wine flight covering both labels: Sauvignon Blanc, 7 Mules Vineyard Rosé of Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, single-vineyard Platt Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast), Red Field Blend from the Angelo Estate Vineyard (Dry Creek Valley), and a Moon Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon.
