About Merriam Vineyards
Merriam Vineyards occupies a beautiful hillside position above Healdsburg in the hills between the Russian River Valley and Alexander Valley appellations, a unique elevated microclimate that allows the estate to produce both Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir of distinctive character.
Founded in 1988 by Bill and Victoria Merriam, the estate farms sustainably on Los Amigos Road with panoramic views that stretch across both the Russian River Valley and Alexander Valley below. The elevation creates cooler growing conditions than the valley floor, giving the Cabernet in particular a freshness and structural tension that contrasts with the warmer valley floor expressions of Alexander Valley Cab.
Merriam produces a focused lineup of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay from their estate and carefully sourced neighborhood vineyards, wines that genuinely reflect the distinctive hilltop microclimate between Sonoma County's two great northern appellations.
