About Miraflores Winery
Miraflores Winery is named for the flower view — miraflores in Spanish, 'see the flowers,' the wildflower-covered view from the Four Springs Trail estate's hilltop position in the El Dorado County foothills. The spring bloom across the Sierra Nevada foothills that gives the estate its name is one of the most dramatic annual botanical events in Northern California.
The estate produces Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Petite Sirah, Barbera, and a range of Italian and Iberian varieties from El Dorado County estate vineyards at 2,400 to 2,800 feet elevation. Winemaker Victor Alvarez's Spanish heritage informs a particular commitment to Tempranillo — rare in the Sierra Foothills but exceptionally well-suited to the high-altitude warm-day cool-night growing conditions.
