About MoniClaire Vineyards
MoniClaire Vineyards is a small, family-owned boutique winery nestled off Lytton Springs Road in the Dry Creek Valley, run by Healdsburg locals Peter and Mary Beth Smiderle. Their family's connection to winemaking runs deep, a source of pride and livelihood for more than a hundred years, and their estate vineyards, planted on hillsides beginning in 2001, are the heart of the operation.
MoniClaire specializes in bold, estate-grown reds: a Zinfandel fermented in individual lots to capture site character, and a deep, dense hillside Petite Sirah, alongside a Sauvignon Blanc and a Zinfandel rose, all crafted in small, garagiste-scale quantities and built to age.
What guests remember most is the welcome. Tastings are by appointment only and thoroughly personal, poured by Peter and Mary Beth themselves on an expansive property with breathtaking views of the valley from the deck. Visitors routinely describe being treated like family, and an on-site guest house makes it possible to linger overnight among the vines.
