About Monochrome Wines
Monochrome Wines is named for the monochromatic approach in visual art — the exploration of all the possibilities within a single color rather than the use of many. The wine philosophy follows: rather than producing a broad lineup of different varieties, Monochrome focuses on a single variety or a small number of closely related wines, exploring all the possibilities that specific vineyard sites and vintages reveal within that narrow range.
The Edna Valley-focused project produces Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from cool maritime San Luis Obispo County sources with the focused depth that the monochromatic philosophy demands. Going deep rather than wide; exploring the range rather than the breadth.
The appointment-only format maintains the focused character of the monochrome approach: this is not a casual encounter with a broad range of different wines but a deep dive into a single palette.
