About Nalle Winery
Nalle Winery is one of the most singular and quietly extraordinary Zinfandel producers in California. Doug Nalle founded the winery in 1984 with a conviction that Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel could achieve a level of elegance and complexity that most producers — focused on power and extraction — were ignoring.
The result over 40 years has been a Zinfandel program of astonishing restraint and longevity — wines that age for 10–20 years and develop the kind of complexity usually associated with Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo. The estate old-vine Zinfandel is the flagship, produced in tiny quantities from dry-farmed estate vines planted by Doug's father in the 1960s.
The winery's Saturday-only appointment schedule and mailing list purchase requirement aren't exclusivity for its own sake — they're the natural consequence of producing very small quantities of wine with enormous care.
