About Napa Valley College Estate Winery
The Napa Valley College Estate Winery is operated by Napa Valley College's viticulture and enology program — one of California's most celebrated practical winemaking education institutions, where students produce Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay as part of their hands-on curriculum. The teaching winery has been producing wine since 1983, its students working with Napa Valley estate vineyard blocks under professional winemaking supervision.
The college's institutional naming makes the estate unusual in the Napa Valley context: wine produced not for commercial profit but for educational outcomes, each vintage a curriculum rather than a commercial program. The graduates of NVC's viticulture program have gone on to careers across California and international wine production.
