About Notre Vue Estate
Notre Vue Estate is a breathtaking 710-acre property in the hills above Windsor, family-owned since 1992, the French name means Our View, and from the summit terrace that view sweeps across a patchwork of vineyards and open land. The estate is unusual for straddling two acclaimed appellations at once: the ancient riverbed soils of the Russian River Valley, ideal for Burgundian Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and the ashy volcanic soils of Chalk Hill, suited to Bordeaux varieties.
Of the 710 acres, 250 are planted to some sixteen grape varieties, while 350 are permanently protected as Forever Wild open space. The wines, produced under the Notre Vue and Balverne labels, are made in a low-intervention European style focused on finesse and purity, and include an award-winning Pinot Noir and traditional-method sparkling.
A visit means a scenic climb up into the hills to a tasting room and terrace with panoramic views; the estate also offers lakeside cabanas, hiking trails, pizza nights and events. Tastings are by reservation.
