About Peterson Winery
Peterson Winery is the most philosophically iconoclastic and genuinely hands-off winery in the Dry Creek Valley. Fred Peterson — a self-described individualist — founded the label in 1984 with a winemaking philosophy he calls 'Zero Manipulation': small lots of unfined, unfiltered wines that capture the essence of vintage and vineyard without tweaking or homogenizing the result to achieve commercial consistency. Son Jamie Peterson took over winemaking duties in 2006 and has deepened the same commitment.
The breadth of the Peterson program is extraordinary: 20+ varieties including four different Zinfandels, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Blanc dessert wine, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Carignane, Barbera, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, and others — most produced from their own Bradford Mountain Vineyard in the northwest of Dry Creek Valley alongside other carefully selected sourcing partnerships.
The tasting experience matches the winemaking philosophy exactly: a laid-back, comfortable converted tasting room with large windows and Dry Creek Valley views, wandering cats as unofficial ambassadors, barrel tastings for the genuinely curious, and pricing that consistently makes the quality feel like a discovery. Walk-ins are welcomed Friday and Saturday; appointments preferred other days.

Zinfandel
Bradford Mountain Zinfandel
Dry Creek Valley / Bradford Mountain
Zero Manipulation estate Zinfandel from the Peterson's own Bradford Mountain Vineyard — unfined, unfiltered, and showing what genuinely hands-off winemaking produces when the fruit is this concentrated and the farming this meticulous.

Sangiovese
Sangiovese
Dry Creek Valley Estate
Peterson's Zero Manipulation Sangiovese — unfined, unfiltered, and showing the genuine Italian character that Dry Creek Valley's warm Mediterranean terroir produces in this Tuscan variety without commercial homogenization.

Carignane
Carignane
Dry Creek Valley
One of Dry Creek Valley's rarest varietal Carignane programs — Peterson's Zero Manipulation approach applied to a variety that the valley's Italian immigrant heritage established over a century ago and that almost no modern producer still takes seriously.

Muscat Blanc (Dessert)
Muscat Blanc
Dry Creek Valley
Peterson's dessert Muscat — the most unusual and conversation-starting wine in a 20+ varietal program that consistently surprises visitors who expect Dry Creek Valley to produce nothing but Zinfandel and Cabernet.
Walk in Fri–Sat (appointment preferred other days) for Peterson's half-dozen Zero Manipulation selections — Bradford Mountain Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Carignane, and 20+ varieties poured in a laid-back converted tasting room with valley views, wandering cats, and barrel tasting options.
