About Portalupi Wine
Portalupi Wine is one of Healdsburg's most charming boutique tasting rooms, a family-owned Italian-style winery steps from the Plaza that celebrates the Italian winemaking heritage of Sonoma County's immigrant founders.
Tim and Jane Portalupi founded the winery in 2008, drawing on Tim's family connections to the Italian immigrant community that planted many of Dry Creek Valley's oldest vines. The wines focus on Italian and Italian-American varietals: Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Barbera, and a small production of Primitivo, the Italian progenitor of Zinfandel.
The tasting room on North Street is warm, intimate, and unpretentious, exactly what a small family-owned Italian wine producer should feel like. The prices are honest, the pours are generous, and the story behind each wine connects visitors to the Italian-American history that shaped Sonoma County wine.
At its Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County location, Portalupi Wine presents a featured lineup that includes Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Barbera, and Primitivo. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.
