About Pontchartrain Vineyards
Pontchartrain Vineyards was one of Louisiana's pioneering wine operations, growing Muscadine and other warm-climate grape varieties on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain near Bush. The vineyard has been rebranded as Wild Bush Farm and Vineyard, but the winemaking heritage continues on the same property. The site remains significant as one of the earliest serious attempts at commercial viticulture in southeastern Louisiana, demonstrating that quality wine production is possible in the state's subtropical climate.
