Quixote Winery isQuixote Winery is the most architecturally extraordinary wine estate in the Napa Valley — possibly in all of California.
When Carl DoumaniWhen Carl Doumani — the founder of Stag's Leap Winery — commissioned Austrian visionary architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser to design his Silverado Trail winery in the 1990s, the result was the only Hundertwasser-designed building in the United States: an exuberant, rule-defying structure with undulating golden roofs, irregular handmade ceramic columns, tree-growing terraces, mosaic tile floors, and not a single straight line or right angle anywhere in its construction.
Hundertwasser — whoseHundertwasser — whose philosophy declared that straight lines were godless and that buildings should grow organically from their landscape rather than imposing geometric order upon it — created at Quixote a winery building that is as much artwork as architecture.

Featured Wines

Petite Sirah
Estate Petite Sirah
Stags Leap District / Quixote Estate
Quixote's most distinctive and personally committed expression — Stags Leap District estate Petite Sirah from the Hundertwasser-designed estate's 21 volcanic palisade acres, Carl Doumani's most passionate and unfashionable choice, producing dark, concentrated, age-demanding Petite Sirah of genuine individual character.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Stags Leap District / Quixote Estate
Quixote's Stags Leap volcanic palisade Cabernet — 21-acre estate Cab from the Silverado Trail's most architecturally extraordinary building, showing the iron-mineral character and afternoon wind-influenced structural tension that the Stags Leap District's volcanic terrain consistently produces in this Bordeaux variety.

Petite Sirah-Cabernet Blend
Knight in Armor
Stags Leap District / Quixote Estate
Quixote's whimsically named proprietary blend — Knight in Armor combining the estate's Stags Leap Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon in a Hundertwasser-spirited wine that refuses to follow conventional Napa Valley blending conventions, as architecturally rule-breaking as the building that produces it.
