About Rewa Vineyards
Rewa Vineyards takes its name from the Maori language — rewa, meaning 'new beginning' or 'fresh start,' a word from New Zealand's indigenous culture applied to a Napa Valley wine project. The naming choice is unusual in a valley where French, Italian, and English naming conventions dominate; it signals a personal connection to the Maori concept of beginning something with intention and care.
The St. Helena estate produces Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from carefully selected valley floor and benchland sources, with winemaking that emphasizes the fresh, beginning-quality that the Rewa name declares: wines that arrive in the glass with a sense of openness rather than the closed, extracted heaviness that overshadows some Napa Cabernet.
The appointment-only format keeps production small and the winery's focus undivided — in keeping with the Maori philosophy of beginning something well and attending to it completely.
