About Roederer Estate
Roederer Estate is the only American wine estate owned by Champagne Louis Roederer — the French house that created Cristal and has been producing the world's most celebrated sparkling wines since 1776. When Jean-Claude Rouzaud, the fifth-generation Roederer family president, identified the Anderson Valley as the most suitable American terroir for producing méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine of genuine Champagne quality, he committed to a philosophy that the estate has never deviated from: estate-grown fruit only, traditional methods only, and the same standard of excellence that the Roederer family applies in Reims.
The 350-acre estate vineyard — planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay across the rolling Philo hills — supplies all the fruit for the entire Roederer Estate program. The méthode traditionnelle production process includes the addition of oak-aged reserve wines to each year's blend, a technique directly transferred from Champagne that creates the complexity and consistency that distinguishes Roederer Estate from other American sparkling wine producers.
The flagship L'Ermitage prestige cuvée — produced only in exceptional vintages and available exclusively at the estate — is widely considered one of California's two or three finest sparkling wines. The newly refreshed tasting room offers sweeping vineyard views, elegant outdoor seating, and food pairings with curated elevated bites. Winery tours revealing the production process are offered daily.
