About Saini Vineyards

Saini Vineyards is a fourth- and fifth-generation family farming operation in the Dry Creek Valley, with roots reaching back to 1908, when great-grandfather Michele Saini emigrated from Genova, Italy. In 1917 the family bought its Healdsburg home block, and over more than a century the Sainis have become one of Sonoma County's most respected growers, farming hundreds of acres in Dry Creek and Alexander valleys, and supplying prized Zinfandel to icons like Seghesio for generations.

For the past decade, though, the family has kept a tiny share of its very best old-vine fruit to make its own boutique wines. The specialty is old-vine Zinfandel, the flagship Olive Block comes from vines planted around 1930 and is made in minuscule quantities, alongside Carignane, Grenache, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc and blends. This is classic Dry Creek Zin from the grape's heartland.

The tasting room, open Thursday through Sunday, offers personal, appointment-friendly tastings hosted by the family that farms every vine.
