About Salvestrin Winery
Salvestrin Winery occupies a historic St. Helena property where the vineyard, family home, winery and Inn at Salvestrin share one address. The estate is easy to pass on Main Street, yet the visit feels personal because guests are invited into a working family property rather than a large commercial tasting center. The winery's history and the Dr. Crane vineyard provide a strong foundation for discussing how St. Helena developed around vineyards and family farms.
The standard Estate Tasting begins with Sauvignon Blanc, continues with a guided look at the winery and grounds and concludes with four current-release wines on the patio or in the tasting room. It currently costs $75 per person, with one fee waived for every three bottles purchased. This experience is both child- and pet-friendly, a notable policy that applies specifically to the estate tasting.
The premium Dr. Crane Experience is different. It takes place in the original nineteenth-century Victorian home, features five red wines with artisanal bites and lasts approximately 90 minutes to two hours. The current price is $150 per person. Children and pets are not permitted for this reservation. Parties larger than six need to contact the winery directly for either format.
Salvestrin works well for travelers who value family history and an intimate estate setting close to central St. Helena. Guests staying at the inn can build a particularly convenient visit, but lodging should not be implied as part of a tasting reservation. Review the age, pet, food and duration rules carefully because the two experiences have opposite access policies in several areas.
