About Scarecrow Wine
Scarecrow Wine is a Napa Valley wine producer, established in 2003. Ninety-year-old vines on a Hollywood legend's Rutherford ranch, poured only for those on the list. Estate Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1945 on St. George rootstock, still in production on the original J.J. Cohn ranch.
Founded by MGM executive J.J. Cohn; the label's name and story trace back to his production of The Wizard of Oz. No public tasting room, wine is released through a mailing-list allocation, with demand historically exceeding supply.
We have not found a published schedule for routine public tasting at Scarecrow Wine. The wines are sold direct or through the trade, and any visit would be by arrangement, so contact the producer before planning one.
