About Sinegal Estate
This St. Helena property, known historically as Inglewood Estate, dates to 1879, when Alton Williams bought the land and planted vines two years later, building a frame wine cellar with a stone foundation. Napa Valley pioneers Bill and Lila Jaeger, co-founders of Freemark Abbey and founders of Rutherford Hill, bought the property in 1965 and lived there before Doug and Jane Wolf purchased it in 1996 and began making wine as Wolf Family Vineyards.
Costco co-founder James Sinegal and his son David bought the estate in 2013 for a reported $17 million, investing another $8 million to expand the caves, rebuild the hospitality spaces, and modernize production while preserving the historic 1906 Victorian home. The original front-door key to that home, still in use, became the winery's brand symbol, appearing on every Sinegal Estate label.
