Soliste Winery takes its name from the French soliste — the soloist, the solo musician who performs alone without accompaniment, whose individual instrument and skill create the entire musical expression without support from an ensemble. Applied to wine, the soliste philosophy declares single-vineyard wine as musical solo performance: each vineyard a soloist whose individual terroir character is the complete expression, needing no blending accompaniment to achieve completeness. The Sonoma Coast boutique produces single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from contracted vineyard sources with the solo-performance transparency the naming implies.
