About Solminer Wine Co

Solminer is the Austrian-accented, sun-mining project of husband and wife David and Anna deLaski, founded in 2009 and rooted since 2012 in their small deLanda farm and vineyard half a mile from downtown Los Olivos. The farm walks the full sustainability path: certified organic in 2014, Demeter Biodynamic in 2018 and Regenerative Organic in 2021, complete with donkeys, bees and native plantings.

The wines honor Anna's Austrian homeland with varieties rare in California, crisp Gruner Veltliner, savory Blaufrankisch and dry Riesling, alongside Syrah and Pinot Noir, all made naturally with native fermentations and a light hand. Production stays under a couple thousand cases, leaving room for playful pet-nats and skin-contact bottlings like the beloved Sunhoney orange wine.

The tasting room on Grand Avenue is small, sunny and unhurried, open daily with a patio, welcoming to both dogs and kids, and for the curious, walking tours of the biodynamic farm and its animals can be booked for a true soil-to-glass experience.
