About Spicy Vines
Spicy Vines is a small, independent, female-founded winery in the heart of downtown Healdsburg, known for bold wines and an unapologetically fun vibe. It was founded in 2011 by entrepreneur Crystalyn Hoffman, who, inspired by the mulled and spiced wines she encountered on her world travels, created a California spiced red blend that gave the winery its name.
In 2014 she was joined by artisan winemaker Doug Hackett, with nearly thirty years in Sonoma and Mendocino vineyards, now her partner and husband, and together the family crafts bold, small-lot wines from high-elevation and old-vine vineyards across Dry Creek, Russian River and beyond. The lineup has earned multiple gold medals and 90-plus scores, gutsy Zinfandel and Syrah, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, rose and Cabernet, plus that signature spiced wine and the occasional wine cocktail.
The tasting room matches the wines: a vibrant, lounge-like gathering place full of art, couches and live music on Saturdays, where you'll often be poured by Crystalyn or Doug themselves.
