Sullivan Rutherford Estate is a Napa Valley winery, founded in 1972. A graphic designer's obsession, founder James O'Neil Sullivan designed album covers in Los Angeles before a backyard grape arbor turned into a full move to Rutherford in 1972. Advised by the man who coined "Rutherford dust", André Tchelistcheff, the legendary Beaulieu Vineyards winemaker, personally guided Sullivan's choice of Bordeaux varieties years ahead of Rutherford's rise to fame.

Napa's quiet secret, no longer, Sullivan sold wine directly to friends and family for decades before new ownership in 2018 set out to give the estate the recognition its terroir had long deserved.
