About Tank Garage Winery - Calistoga
Tank Garage Winery operates from a restored 1930s-era gas station on Foothill Boulevard in Calistoga. The building, graphic labels and rotating one-off wines create a playful alternative to traditional Napa estate hospitality. The Lubrication Tasting features four limited-production wines that may include rosé, white, red, orange or sparkling styles. It currently costs $40 and lasts about 50 to 65 minutes. A dedicated Family Tasting uses the same price while providing time slots intended for guests bringing children. Groups of seven or eight use a separate Backroom format priced at $75 per person, including non-tasters. The wines change seasonally, which is central to the experience.
Current Calistoga hours vary by day: Monday and Friday run until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday until 5:00 p.m., and weekends begin at 10:00 a.m. Reservations are recommended. Every guest, including children and non-tasters, must be counted. The winery warns that labels and décor include profanity or adult themes, and strollers cannot be accommodated at tasting tables. Outside food is prohibited.
Tank loves animals in principle, but the Calistoga garage has no outdoor seating and currently permits only animals meeting ADA service requirements. That policy should override older dog-friendly descriptions. Tank is a strong fit for adventurous drinkers, design-minded visitors and families comfortable with the adult-themed environment. It is easy to combine with downtown Calistoga, but the small room and 15-minute late-arrival limit make a reservation valuable. Keep the Calistoga and Paso Robles records separate.
