About Madison Wine Country
Madison lies in Lake County on the western edge of the Grand River Valley AVA, part of the Lake Erie wine belt east of Cleveland. It is best known as the home of Debonne Vineyards, Ohio's largest estate winery and one of the most visited in the eastern United States, along with sister operation Grand River Cellars.
The area's gently rolling, glacially deposited soils and Lake Erie's moderating influence support Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and cold-hardy hybrids. With Debonne, Laurentia, and St. Joseph Vineyard all within easy reach, Madison offers a concentrated, family-friendly taste of Grand River Valley wine country close to the lake.
